More of Patrick J. Murphy's Art:

See my previous posting about the art of Patrick J. Murphy! Following are some more works by my new favorite artist:

 --Rug

Yes, let's just sweep everything right under that rug there! Let's not talk about anything. Let's just sweep it away. Gone! Or is it?

 --Abstract 32

 --Abstract 141

 --Bouncy Sunshine

 --Freedom 3

I really like patterns. And repetition. And the idea of escaping. Love this series.

 --Freedom

Mr. Murphy has many music-related paintings:

 --Into the Music

 --Jazz

--Train

It's all here in Train: patterns, repetition, music of the train, escaping.

Did I say I really like the art of Patrick J. Murphy? I really do.

20 May, Lakewoodstock, etc...

Hey, I have a birthday coming up next weekend, falling on Sunday, the 20th of May. It's a milestone one, so I want to celebrate by listening to music -- live music. That very day, Lakewoodstock, the Lakewood neighborhood festival, will be taking place right in the middle of the shopping center at Abrams and Gaston. I don't live in Lakewood, or even in Dallas, but if I did, I would choose to live somewhere near good ol' White Rock Lake. To celebrate the neighborhood, streets will be blocked, stages will be built, and music will be performed. I am going to be at this FREE and FAMILY FRIENDLY event most of the day. I am inviting all of my friends and family to come by and enjoy the music and celebrate my birthday.

The flyer below has kind of a "Maui look," wouldn't you say?

Oh, here is my headliner band, Club Wood! They might not be the headliner band, but they sure are mine. Aren't they cool?

I mean, who can resist this face? Lead singer Johnny Tone always puts on a show, and on this day, he's keeping it family friendly, too!

Even the Mayor of Dallas likes to schmooze with Club Wood!

And here is the complete Club Wood:
--including Jordan the Magnificent, the Judge, the Lip, Jefro, Mike (Hard) Wood, Kinley  (the Wolfe) Wolfe, Rip Leads, and well, you know who:-)!

--Even Boromir likes them

And guess what? There are 5 other bands performing (on 2 different stages) that I have heard/seen in the past and 2 others that I want to see including:

   1:00 pm  Colin Boyd

1:15 pm  The Sutcliffes (including Club Wood member Jefro)

   2:45 pm  Club Wood

   4:00 pm  The Electro-Magnetics

4:15 pm  Salim Nourrallah & The Travoltas

and I have been wanting to hear:

   5:15 pm  Hunter Hendrickson

The evening ends with two bands on two different stages:

6:30 pm  Fever in the Funkhouse

6:45 pm  Hard Night's Day (Beatles tribute band)

There is also a singer/songwriter stage as well. Maybe someone new will intrigue me as well.

So there are lots of choices and decisions to make! Isn't it cool how there is no conflict for me to watch Club Wood? Serendipitous! I will probably watch Colin, Salim Nourrallah, and Hard Night's Day, as well as snippets of the others! So there you have it!

I think being outside and listening to music is a great way to celebrate the beginning of a new decade of life! It will be so much better than this:

So EVERYONE I know is invited. And you can SMS or MMS or call to find out where I am. Just email me for the number.
